A dried bean homage to the enigmatic figure of Niccolò Machiavelli. Viewed by some as a satirist of political power, and by others as a champion for the ruthless pursuit of power, Machiavelli influenced figures from Antonio Gramsci to Tupac Shakur, who in fact changed his stage name from 2pac to Makeveli, only months before his murder, after reading The Prince in prison. The bean portrait is illuminated by a candle lamp which burns night and day.
